In the lead up to his preparations for the 2012 London Olympics, PNG Sprint king and Digicel PNG Brand Ambassador, Nelson Stone received a parting gift in the form of sporting attire from Digicel PNG’s Operations Director Lorna McPherson at the Digicel headquarters today.

The gift received today are the remaining part of the overall sporting attires that he previously received from PNG’s leading mobile company. As well as that, Digicel will also put Stone on its international roaming mobile service for the duration of his stay in Sydney to ensure a continued effective communication link with the athlete and the telco.

Stone will be heading for Sydney, Australia tomorrow in his drive to qualify for the Olympics in London this year. Stone who is one of the company’s first sporting Brand Ambassadors, underwent a hectic workout schedule including hill running, jogging and pool sessions at the Taurama Leisure Centre since the beginning of this year. He also worked out at the Digicel Gymnasium; another of Digicel’s support towards the athlete’s preparation efforts.

The PNG-based training session for Digicel’s brand ambassador ends this afternoon. Stone will be leaving the country for Sydney tomorrow morning.
