January 22nd 2009 - Digicel gives away 7th vanThursday January 22nd, 2008 – Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea: Digicel, the fastest growing mobile operator in the Pacific, today gave away the second last of the 8 Nissan Urvans on offer in its ongoing promotion.
Chris Apio was playing guitar at home in Tokarara last Sunday when he received a call telling him he had won K56000 van. Recalling the moment he learned of his success, he said
“The call came in and was live on radio, but my family was not listening. When I went to tell them, my family didn’t believe me at first, they thought I was joking.”
The final draw takes place on radio this coming Sunday morning January 25th. Chris told Digicel subscribers -
“Keep texting until the draw closes on midnight this coming Saturday night. There is one more van to be drawn this Sunday. I was completely shocked that I won, I couldn’t believe it, but it could happen, it could be you!”
Chris drives for Nicoland Seafoods, and is married to Rachel. With four children, they will make plenty use of the spacious new van, not least as the young family stays lives with the winners parents.
