Loving Digicel worth thousands of Kina!
5 winners have already taken home a total of K65000...meet them here!
Friday March 27, 2009 – Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea: Digicel, the fastest growing mobile operator in the Pacific, is giving away thousands of Kina in its ongoing ‘I Love my Digicel’ campaign.
Five lucky winners have already taken home a total of K65000. Jack from the Highlands is the biggest winner so far - now K35000 richer thanks to his love for Digicel. He asked that his full name and identity not be revealed, but had the following message for PNG:
"My thanks to Digicel for this lucrative and fun competition. Be ready for the call, and answer with “I Love my Digicel” – you could win thousands of kina.”
Jack plans to purchase a vehicle for his little family as he says it is “difficult to commute” these days, and says he will decide what to do with the rest of the cash at a later date.
Jack was shocked and couldn’t even believe that he had won the jackpot of K35000. “My children were ecstatic, they were all jumping around. I was just too stunned”, he said when he was asked about his initial reaction.
Other winners so far include Elijah Fuapla from Vanimo. When the Love Call came though, the 28 year-old has just registered for the competition, by texting LOVE to 5683. Elijah answered correctly, winning himself K10000.
He plans to use the money to help fund a local Church opening and upcoming Easter ceremonies.
Hanuabada’s Raho Tau won K10000 on March 24. Collecting his prize at the Digicel office he said he was “very happy, because now I can pay my school fees for this year.” Before answering the Love Call, Raho had been unable to join his final-year colleagues at ITI, as he had been unable to cover his tuition costs.
Other winners include Abel Aima in Lae who won K5000, and Ann Molean from Manus who, also won K5000.
“I Love my Digicel” closes on March 31. To enter, text LOVE to 5683. The Digicel Love Call runs live on NAU FM, twice daily, in the morning and evening. Answer “I Love my Digicel”, and you could win big. Prize starts at K5000, and if no winner on a call, K5000 is added to the jackpot each time.
