ANYONE can vote for the next Miss Papua New Guinea by sending a text message to 7979.
As of last Tuesday, supporters of the quest around the country would now have a chance to vote for their favourite candidate to be crowned on Saturday.

As of last Tuesday, supporters of the quest around the country would now have a chance to vote for their favourite candidate to be crowned on Saturday.
Digicel, in a press conference last month, presented a cheque for K80, 000 to the PNG Red Cross for the annual charity quest.
Digicel also announced that its customers nationwide would now have a say in the selection process by voting for their favourite quest entrant via their Digicel phone.
With “Text Message Voting”, customers can vote for the eight contestants by sending an SMS to 7979.
All contestants are numbered from 1-8 and a customer votes by opening a new message, typing the designated number of his or her favourite contestant and sending the message to 7979.
Each SMS will cost the Digicel subscriber K1 and proceeds will go to the PNG Red Cross.
The numbers for the contestants are as follows: Miss BSP Rachel James (1); Miss NGCB Nicole Jeune (2), Miss Manus Snax Vanessa Knight (3); Miss South West Air Betty Levo (4); Miss PNGAAA Michelle Mondia (5); Miss Monier Hebou Construction Lamana Constantinou Group Sylvia Pascoe (6); Miss Digicel Hariesa Tau (7); and Miss Nambawan Trophu Haus Gabriella Evara (8).
Digicel chief executive officer John Mangos said: “We are proud to announce this initiative which means our subscribers nationwide can finally have a say in the selection of this year’s Miss PNG Queen.
“Proceeds from the text message voting will go to the PNG Red Cross to help with their work in building resilient communities in PNG.”
Text message voting closes at midnight tomorrow.
