Digical Welcomes Home Pukpuk 7's From World Cup Qualifier

August 5th 2008 - - Pukpuks winners of the Plate at World Cup Qualifier in Samoa

Tuesday August 5, 2008 – Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea: Digicel, the fastest growing mobile operator in the Pacific, gave a warm welcome home to the Digicel Pukpuk 7’s who returned from the World Cup Qualifier in Samoa last week.

 

The Digicel Pukpuk 7’s Team returned home winning the Plate Finals and finishing fifth overall at the IRB World Cup 2009 Oceania Sevens Qualifier held in Samoa one week ago. Digicel, the official title sponsor of the Pukpuks 7’s Team, was present at Port Moresby international airport to welcome the boys home and to congratuale them on winning the Plate Finals. Upon arrival, all the team members and travellling officials, were presented with Digicel backpacks by official sponsor Digicel.

Coach Sailosi Druma said: “The major thing for the boys and for all of us as a team is what we’ve learnt from this game and the experience gained. The exposure of playing high level rugby with the world’s best is an added guideline to the Pukpuk’s futuristic ambitions .
