DIGICEL HELPS AMATEUR BOXING ASSOCIATION
November 3rd 2011 - NCD Amateur Boxing Association gets High Speed Digicel ModemsThe NCD Amateur Boxing Association has received help from leading mobile phone company, Digicel in kind to assist with their fundraising drive in preparations for the National Amateur Boxing Champions.
The Association has received high-speed Huawei modems complete with Digicel sim cards to use as prizes for a raffle draw as part of their fundraising drive set for the 25th of November. A Golf Trade Day will also be held at the Port Moresby Golf Club and registration for a team of four is K1, 500.
Fundraising Chairman and NCD Amateur Boxing Team Manager, Posu Aero; “Such assistance in kind comes in a small way but it will help us in our fundraising activities and we are open to more support if offered so that we can not only go through to the National Championships but to other tournaments abroad”.
The NCD Amateur Boxing Team consists of eight males and four females who will take part in some of the nine different divisions available in the National Championships. The female boxers from the team will be taking part in the 46kg, 48kg, 51kg and 54kg divisions. The National Championship will be held in Vanimo, Sandaun Province from November 25th to November 27th.
The Championships will be a lead up to the Oceania Olympic Qualifier Games in Canberra in March 2012 and also towards the Pacific Games.
