DIGICEL SUPPORTS PNG VOLLEYBALL FEDERATION WITH K80, 000
Digicel, PNG’s Bigger, Better Network will be sponsoring the PNG National Volleyball teams’ to attend the Oceanic Indoor and Beach Volleyball Championships in New Caledonia next month.
Digicel PNG CEO, John Mangos today, presented a cheque for K80, 000 to the President of the PNG Volleyball Federation (PNGVF), Mr Turaho Morea and members of the PNG National Volleyball team at the Digicel Headquarters in Gordons.
“Digicel is happy to contribute to the community through sports. We are proud to be part of the Federation’s vision statement towards meeting their vision- "To develop the game of volleyball to be the Number One sport and recreational activity in Papua New Guinea by 2015". We give TEAM PNG our best wishes when they will be representing our country at the championships next month.
Upon accepting the cheque, PNGVF President, Mr Turaho Morea thanked Digicel for its generous sponsorship

TEAM PNG consists of a contingent of 12 men and 12 women.
The Federation’s participation in this international event is part of their preparation for the Pacific Games in 2011; also in Noumea, New Caledonia. Digicel plans to sponsor the PNG Volleyball Federation with a total of K80, 000. The sponsorship will go toward the funding of three of PNGVF’s major events and activities in the volleyball calendar for 2010
The first installment of K30, 000 will go towards its participation in the ‘2010 Oceania Indoor and Beach Volleyball Championship’.
Players selected from the Under 21 Division will represent the country as a Development Team at the Arafura Games in Darwin Australia. Digicel’s sponsorship value for the National Open and Under 21 Championship will be K30, 000.
In November, Digicel will sponsor the ‘Ten Titans Tournament’ in Port Moresby with K10, 000. The Inaugural Ten Titans Tournament will attract ten of the top associations in Port Moresby.
The remaining K10, 000 of Digicel’s sponsorship will be spread to fund the National Volleyball Summit, Coach and Referee Courses and Junior Development Program.

to Tuesday 20th, July 2010. The Federation will be sending teams for men's and women's indoor and men's and women's beach volleyball.
