PNG’S FASTEST MAN WILL SHOW DIGICEL CUP FAN HOW TO BE WINNERS AT SUNDAY’S VIPER V MURUKS CLASH

July 30th 2011 - PNG’S FASTEST MAN WILL SHOW DIGICEL CUP FAN HOW TO BE WINNERS AT SUNDAY’S VIPER V MURUKS CLASH

As part of Digicel’s recently announced sponsorship of the PNG Sports Federation and support of Team PNG travelling to the Pacific Games new month, PNG’s fastest man, Nelson Stone, is a guest of honour at Sunday’s Digicel Cup clash between the SNS Vipers and the SBSL Mendi Muruks at PRL.

Nelson is a former Rugby League player who three years ago gave up the Game he loved to focus on athletics and has since set a PNG all comers sprint record with a 10.3 second personal best for the 100 metres.

Nelson is targeting five Gold Medals for PNG in sprint events in New Caledonia next month.

During half-time of the big Digicel Cup clash at the PRL grounds Nelson will be officiating at a 100 metre sprint where selected spectators will be trying to beat the PNG record and will be competing for Digicel prizes.

The game kicks off at 3pm with starting at K5 for children and K10 for adults.

Digicel is proud to support the 350 athletes in Team PNG and wishes them every success in the build up to the New Caledonia Games.
