What is Digicel Cellmoni?

Digicel Cellmoni is a financial service that turns your mobile phone into an electronic wallet. This service allows you to deposit & withdraw cash, transfer moni, Buy & Send Top Up and pay bills directly from your Digicel mobile phones.

How does the service work?

To use the Digicel Cellmoni service, you must first subscribe to the Digicel Cellmoni service: 

1.    Activate your wallet

2.    Register your details to the service

3.    Digicel will then verify you

 Your status will now be “registered and verified” which allows you to perform all transactions on the Digicel Cellmoni wallet

The first transaction you will perform is a “Cash In” or a deposit into your wallet. This is where you visit any authorised Digicel agent & Lodge Cash onto their wallet.

CASH IN:
 
1.    Visit any of the authorised Digicel Agents. Call the FREE Cellmoni hotline on 16888 to ask for an agent location or simply send a FREE SMS to 1688 with a province & the SMS locator will prompt you in locating your nearest agent

2.    The Agent will initiate the Cash In transaction

3.    The Agent confirms your Digicel number

4.    The Agent confirms the amount you want to deposit onto your wallet

5.    The Agent enters their PIN and confirms the transaction

6.    Transaction is successful and both agent & customer receive  confirmation SMS messages

7.    Digicel Agent receives cash and customer confirms that the Digicel Cellmoni is now credited to their wallet

Yes. Only the subscriber can access his/her account and will be required to enter his/her PIN to make any transaction.

Are there any limits to the amount of transactions I can do in a day?

Currently, there are no limits to the number of transactions that you can do in a day.

Are there any limits to the value being transacted?

Yes. The limits as follows:

  • To Cash In / Out, the minimum value is K10 & Maximum is K500.00
  • To transfer Cellmoni, the minimum value is K1 & Maximum is K500.00
  • For easiPAY, the minimum value is K10 & Maximum is K500.00
  • To buy & send Top Up, the minimum value is K1 & Maximum is K500.00
  • For Postpaid Bills, the minimum value is K30, & Maximum is K500.00
  • You can do more than one transaction to add up to the amount you intend to transact.
 

WHAT IS THE DAILY, WEEKLY, MONTHLY LIMIT ON TRANSACTIONS FOR MY WALLET?

  • Daily limit for transactions is K500. Once you transact K500, you will have to wait 24hrs before you can transact
  • Weekly limit: There is no Weekly limit set
  • Monthly limit is K2, 500. Total transactions per month is K2,500. Once you reach this amount within the month, you then need to wait till the following month to do transactions

What is the minimum and maximum amount I can hold as my balance in my wallet?

The minimum is K0.00 and the maximum is K500.00.

Why should I register to Digicel Cellmoni?

Digicel Cellmoni is an electronic wallet that gives you an alternative banking solution for storing money, depositing and withdrawing cash, paying bills, Buying/Sending Top Up & transferring funds.

If you do not register, you will not be able to do any transactions on the Digicel Cellmoni wallet.
 

How will registration work?

There are 2 ways to register to the service:

1.    . Call into the FREE Cellmoni hotline on 16888

a.    To activate your wallet

b.    Register your details on the Web

c.    A SMS will be triggered to reply to the secret word with a 6 digit CODE

d.    Digicel will then Verify the wallet

 

Customer is now registered & verified

2.    Self Registration

                      I.        Call *888#

                    II.        Reply to the prompt with 888. By activating you agree to the cellmoni terms and conditions

                   III.        You will receive a temporary PIN via SMS. Please change this immediately by calling *888*4*3# and following the prompts

                  IV.        Now call *888*4*53 and reply with your PIN when prompted

                    V.        You will receive an SMS indicating the format in which to register. This SMS also contains a CODE which you must include in your reply

                  VI.        Reply to the SMS in the format: First Name#Last Name#Date of Birth # Occupation # Village# Province#Code

                 VII.        Next you will receive an SMS indicating the format in which to provide your secret word. This SMS also contains a code which you must include in your reply

                VIII.        Reply to the SMS in the format: secretword#CODE

                  IX.        You will receive an SMS confirming your successful registration

                    X.        Your registration will be verified by Digicel within 48 hrs

Digicel subscribers and Digicel Cellmoni Agents can cash in by converting cash into Digicel Cellmoni.

 

Steps to cash in:

1.    Digicel Cellmoni Agent initiates the transaction

2.    Digicel Agent enters the customers Mobile Number

3.    Digicel Agent enters the Amount (in toea, e.g. K1 is 100)

4.    Digicel Agent enters the PIN #

5.    Both Agent & Subscriber receive a confirmation SMS message with a unique reference number for a successful transaction
 

How do I Cash out using the service?

Digicel subscribers can cash out by converting Digicel Cellmoni into cash at any Digicel agent in PNG.
 

Steps to cash out:

1.    Digicel Agent initiates the transaction

2.    Digicel Agent enters the Customers Mobile #

3.    Digicel Agent enters the Amount (in toea, e.g. K1 is 100)

4.    Digicel Agent enters their PIN

5.    Subscriber receives a prompt to confirm the value & highlights the service fee for that transaction. If the Subscriber agrees, they enter their PIN # & submit. If not, they have the option to cancel

6.    The subscriber receives a USSD message to confirm that the transaction has been successful

7.    Both Agent & Subscriber receive a confirmation SMS message with a unique reference: The agent has now confirmed transfer of Cellmoni from the customer to the agent. The agent now hands over Cash to the customer.

With this service, will I be able to pay my bills?

YES. This service will allow subscribers to purchase EasiPAY & Postpaid Airtime Bills directly from your Mobile Wallet.

 

Steps to purchase EasiPAY:

1.    Type *888# and SEND

2.    Select 6 for EasiPAY

3.    Enter the Account#. (EasiPAY meter number)

§ If the Account number is incorrect, subscriber will get a USSD prompt

4.    Enter the Amount# (in toea, e.g. to purchase EasiPAY worth K10, type 1000)

5.    Enter the PIN #

6.    Confirmation Prompt: You are purchasing Kxx.xx for (registered easiPAY meter holder). You will be charged a transaction fee of Kxx.xx. Press 1 to confirm & 2 to cancel.
 

I want to transfer some money to my mother, how do I do that?

Digicel Cellmoni will allow subscribers to perform a domestic transfer from one subscriber to another.

To transfer money, simply type *888# on the main screen of the phone and follow the given instructions:

1.    Select the 2nd menu option (Money Transfer)

2.    Enter the Recipients Mobile #

3.    Enter Amount# to be transferred (e.g. to send K20, type 2000)

4.    Enter the PIN#

5.    Please confirm Transfer of Kxx.xx to 675xxxxxxxx. You will be charged a transaction fee of Kxx.xx. Select 1 to confirm & 2 to cancel

The subscriber transferring the Money will receive a confirmation SMS message with a unique reference # confirming the successful transfer. The Money Transfer recipient receives a confirmation SMS message with a unique reference number confirming the successful transfer
 

Can I send money to a number that is not registered for Digicel Cellmoni?

Yes. The number will be automatically activated to the service to receive the money. However, must be a Digicel number and will still be required to register before using any services.
 
 

Can I use Digicel Cellmoni to top-up my mobile phone?

YES. Self top-up is available through this service. To recharge your mobile phone account, follow these instructions:

1.    Type *888# and SEND

2.    Select 1 for Top Up

3.    Select 1 for Buy Top up

4.    Enter Amount# to be topped up (e.g. to topup K20, type 2000)

5.    Enter the PIN#

6.    Top-Up confirmation messagewith your airtime balance & Cellmoni Balance
 
 
 

If I lose my phone, can I still claim my Digicel Money?

You must report the loss of your phone promptly to Customer Care on 123 who will route you to the appropriate queue. Your Cellmoni is safe. It cannot be accessed by anyone as it is PIN protected. Simply replace your sim & your Cellmoni wallet will be accessible as normal.
 

I have forgotten my Digicel Cellmoni PIN, what do I do?

1.    Customers must call into the Cellmoni Hotline on 16888 to speak to a Cellmoni Agent who will take you through security steps to firstly identify and verify yourself, then will advise on PIN Reset & security/processes put in place to protect your wallet
 

Is there an expiration date on my Digicel Cellmoni?

There is no expiration date on your Digicel Cellmoni Wallet
